This painting came along for a ride.

Between Us

is the largest work in the body I’ve been calling “Thinking Women” — she came with me from ages 28-33. And she contains emotional bits from all of it. But even before “the year of the girl” (2023), I knew this piece was going to celebrate pink in some way, and I was going to infuse the painting with the upsides of my emotional experiences. I landed on the title “Between Us” as an homage to the women in my life who encouraged me and loved me through tough life changes, and who were always (rewardingly) very kind & effusive about this particular piece.
